New Release
Latest News from Luminate Records
During January we thought we’d quickly look back at what we’ve achieved over the past year. Our ambition was to begin to solidify the running of the label behind the scenes enabling us to concentrate more on expanding our catalogue. At this point last year we began a partnership with classical distribution specialists Ulysses Arts, releasing the Slate Quartet’s debut recording, Brett Dean’s first string quartet, “Eclipse”.
2025 also saw us launch the very popular CBSO Chamber Music series of live recorded performances from the CBSO Centre in Birmingham, with recordings of Elgar’s “Piano Quintet in A Minor” and Golijov’s “The Dreams and Prayer’s of Isaac the Blind”, featuring musics from the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
We rounded out 2025 with our major release of the year, the debut album of pianist Tim Rumsey “Transcriptions”, showcasing his virtuosity as both a musician and composer. For the first time, through our partnership with elasticStage, we were also able to offer this release on vinyl, split as an LP, and an EP focussing on the arrangements of Percy Grainger.
In 2026 we plan to increase our catalogue further, with many exciting releases already in the final stages of production. We’re looking forward to a number of projects being brought to us by two new associate producers, Andrew Budden and Jan Capinski. We will continue to expand the CBSO Chamber Music series, and in collaboration with Presto Music and elasticStage will make many more of our recordings readily available compact disc and vinyl mediums to compliment our current digital offerings.
We look forward to bringing you wonderful things in 2026!
