A group of City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra musicians under the guise of Symphonic Six present a wonderful jazz sextet re-imagining by John Kirby of the very famous tune from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” – this is the wonderfully festive “Bounce of the Sugar Plum Fairy”. Available for a strictly limited time until the end of January 2024, all money from sales of this single will be donated to Crisis Skylight Birmingham, a charity doing amazing work for the homeless and rough sleepers.

Hi Henry. So glad you’ve found our recording of “Bounce”. The rest of the concert was recorded and we are working through it at the moment with a view to possibly releasing parts of it. We’ll keep you posted! You can see Symphonic Six perform again after the CBSO concert at Symphony Hall on the 26th January, 2024!
