Tom Freeman-Attwood - Trumpet

Tom Freeman-Attwood began the trumpet aged nine under the guidance of Kathy Gifford at Aylesbury Music Service. Later, while learning while Brian Kingsley at Ampleforth College he gained a place with the National Youth Orchestra before being accepted to the Royal Academy of Music, London, under the tuition of Mark David, Robert Farley, John Hutchins, Paul Beniston and Gareth Small. During this time Tom was a member of the award winning Metropolitan Brass, performing on BBC Radio 3 “In Tune” with Sean Rafferty.

During his subsequent career as a freelancer, Tom has performed with ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, English National Opera, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Sinfonia of London, the Ulster Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Tom has a keen passion for early music which has seen him perform on the Natural Trumpet with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Concerto Copenhagen, The Sixteen, The Hannover Band, Irish Baroque Orchestra, L’Arpe Festante and Brecon Baroque with Rachel Podger.
