Tim Rumsey - Piano

Tim’s growing demand as a soloist has led to recitals at Chichester Cathedral, Cheltenham’s Pitville Pump Room, the V&A Museum, London and the Teatro Verdi, Italy. He is regularly engaged as an accompanist and in chamber music performances around the UK, and is an avid jazz improviser, taking part in the Pordenone Silent Film Festival in Italy in 2023. His piano trio regularly programme his compositions in their concerts, including an arrangement of Gershwin’s An American in Paris and his suite entitled Decorations.

A Wisniewski/Derwent scholar at the Royal Academy of Music, London for his Master of Arts degree under the guidance of piano professor Colin Stone, Tim Rumsey graduated with a Diploma of the Royal Academy of Music (DipRAM) award as well as the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music for teaching in 2023.

Tim’s work as an early years pedagogue includes his teaching at the Primary and Junior Departments of the Royal Academy of Music, and the prestigious St. Catherine’s School in Bramley, Guildford.
